About the Initiative
A distinctive knowledge hub
for space science and communications
Noura Space Beacon is an exceptional educational and research initiative led by the College of Engineering at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, in strategic partnership with the Saudi Amateur Radio Society.
Spanning more than 3,000 m², the Beacon is designed around the concept of “space habitats,” creating an integrated scientific environment that combines academic learning with hands-on field applications. It aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by supporting the development of national capabilities in space and advanced technologies.
The radio-telescope research associated with the initiative is also supported by published scientific work, including a Radio Science (2025) study on the design and optimization of a low-cost 5-m radio telescope and an IEEE Antennas & Propagation Magazine (2025) paper exploring the telescope as an educational platform for hydrogen-line observation and radio astronomy.
